Landscape uses of pine trees

Pine trees are often used in large landscape areas, such as public gardens, parks, golf courses, and medium-large yards. They are rarely used as street trees. In urban areas, the spruce or fir is generally preferred.

The cones are a source of litter to some, so the pine's landscape use is thus somewhat limited by that. The cones of the coulter pine provide a public safety hazard.

Pines are often seen at rest-stops in the south. Golf courses also use them extensively.
