Pinus strobus has been planted extensively in the United States and abroad, including the United Kingdom. It is widely used for landscaping, including in suburban settings; for timber, its lumber being valued as extremely useful for the founding of the United States, and to this day very important and used for drywall framing; for furniture and bookshelves; its foliage the prime pine used in tea; its wood once used to build English naval masts, which had a surprising influence on the Revolutionary war; of course, the last instance is historical, but represents something still doable. The tree also has wildlife value.
The state parks and such, at least in Pennsylvania, widely plant the eastern white pine.
